Putney, 1,596 in Streatham, 920 in Tooting, and 1,978 in Wandsworth),
compared with 4,030 in 1914, 4,404 in 1913, and 3,787 in
1912.
2,546 lots of bedding were stoved at the Disinfecting Station,
compared with 2,268 in 1914, 1,801 in 1913, and 1,744 in 1912.
The 2,546 lots of bedding included the following: 1,312 beds,
1,538 bolsters, 3,867 pillows, 1,734 mattresses, 348 palliasses, 3,160
sheets, 2,210 quilts, 757 cushions, 17,290 articles of clothing, 5,942
blankets, 118 carpets, and 7,793 extra articles, a total of 46,069
articles, compared with 28,809 in 1914. 23,101 in 1913, and 21,401
in 1912.
1,873 premises were disinfected after Measles and 371 after
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, compared with 372 and 399 in 1914.
64 beds, 32 bolsters, 121 pillows, 67 mattresses, 59 palliasses,
24 sheets, 15 quilts, 31 cushions, 262 articles of clothing, 27 blankets,
eight carpets, and 132 extra articles, were removed and destroyed
by request of the owners during the year.
Disinfection was also carried out by the Sanitary Staff at
premises after non-notifiable diseases, chiefly Cancer, and the sum
of £36 19s. 7d. was received for such disinfection.
241 rooms were disinfected with sulphur in consequence of
their verminous condition and 98 lots of verminous bedding disinfected,
compared with 409 rooms and 27 lots of bedding in 1914.
During the year, at the request of the Military Authorities,
9,415 articles of clothing and bedding were disinfected on account
of having been exposed to infection, and 9,552 articles in consequence
of their verminous condition.
The Disinfecting Station has been frequently visited during the
year, and I am able to report that the work has been carried out
by the staff to my entire satisfaction.
