Acute Polio-Myelitis.
10 cases of the above were notified during the year, one from
Putney, three from Streatham, and six from Wandsworth. Two
of the cases were under one year of age, six from one and under
five years, and two from five and under 15 years.
Two of the cases proved fatal.
In the whole of London 98 cases were notified, compared with
93 in 1914, and 145 in 1913.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.
44 cases were notified, of which eight were in Clapham, three in
Putney, 11 in Streatham, eight in Tooting, and 14 in Wandsworth.
43 of the cases were visited. 28 were attended at birth by
midwives. 17 were treated at hospital as out-patients, one as an
in-patient in a Metropolitan Asylums Board Hospital with the
mother, and three were removed to the Union Infirmary, the 23
remaining being treated at home.
Two cases removed and could not be traced, three died of
Convulsions, two from Broncho-Pneumonia, and one from Enteritis.
The 38 remaining cases have recovered.
Eight cases were notified by registered midwives, of which
one was also notified by a medical practitioner.
Glanders and Anthrax Cases.
No cases of the above diseases were notified under the above
Orders by the Veterinary Inspector of the London County Council.
