was fixed, and I am now informed that the machine has been fitted
with an efficient plunger and further samples have been taken and
found to be genuine.
In five cases proceedings were taken against milk vendors for
selling milk from receptacles upon which their name and address
were not conspicuously inscribed, and convictions were obtained.

In two cases the defendants relied on a warranty, and in each
case the Magistrate was satisfied that the milk sold was in the same
condition as received.
In two cases proceedings were taken against milk vendors for
refusing to serve milk for analysis, and convictions were obtained.
The following Table shows the number of milk samples taken,
the number found adulterated, and the percentage adulteration for
the past 10 years, compared with the year 1913.
