Bridge over
Hailway, High
Street, Putney.
69. The London and South-Western Railway Company having
stated their intention to reconstruct at an early
date a section of the bridge carrying High Street,
Putney, over the railway, a scheme has been prepared by the
Company's Engineer in collaboration with the Engineer to the Metropolitan
Water Board and the Borough Engineer for widening the
bridge and for placing the Water Board's mains under the public

The Borough Council is now in communication with the Road
Board, the London County Council, and the Railway Company with
the view of those bodies contributing towards the cost of the
proposed works.

and the County boundary at Priests' Bridge, has since been paved
with the following materials as an experiment, viz.:—(a) Cormastik
road material; (b) Durax armouring, part Enderby and part
Norway granite; and (c) granite macadam with Plascom binding
material.
Putney Heath

72. With the consent of the Wimbledon and Putney Commons
Conservators, the Council has effected an improvement
by rounding off the corner of Putney Heath
at the junction of the southern side of Putney Heath North with
the eastern side of the road leading from Putney Park Lane to the
Old Portsmouth Road.
