The preparation of catalogues has occupied a good deal of time
and attention during the past year. In June, an Author-List of the
books in the Tooting Library was published, and the printing has just
been completed of a new Subject Catalogue of the books in the
Tate Library relating to Science, Art, Sociology, etc. The Subcommittee
hope to issue in the course of the .ensuing year a new
catalogue of the books contained in the Balham Library, and
catalogus of the Fiction and Juvenile departments at the Streatham
Library.
The usual lists of additious to the libraries have been issued
during the year as well as those relating to topics of the day and
other matters of public and local interest.
The Reading Rooms are regularly supplied with a comprehensive
selection of the leading newspapers and periodicals.
The rooms are used extensively by the inhabitants of the district
and are open every weekday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sundays
(except during the months of July, August and September) from
3 to 9 p.m.
