ENTERIC FEVER.
Eighteen deaths were registered, or 21 less than the corrected average of
the preceding 20 years.
This disease, like other zymotics, has shown a steady decrease, for during
the quinquennium 1886-1890 the deaths averaged 53 per annum ; during the
1891-1895 quinquennium 37 per annum; during the 1896-1900 quinquennium
44 per annum; and during the 1901-1905 quinquennium 30 per annum, and
in the last three years 16 per annum. Thus it is seen that there has been a very
substantial reduction in the mortality.
