The following report and tables of statistics required by the
Ministry of Health are submitted by Dr. Ian S. Thomson, Tuberculosis
Officer and Assistant Medical Officer of Health.
City of Westminster Tuberculosis Dispensary.
The work of the dispensary has been carried on throughout the year
without any marked change in the routine.
Four hundred and sixty.two new cases were seen by the Tuberculosis
Officer, as compared with 412 in 1933, and 484 in 1932. Two hundred
and seventy.two of the cases were considered to be tubercular, although
not all at an active stage of the disease. In addition action was taken
with regard to 32 cases recommended for sanatorium treatment by
voluntary hospitals. These cases did not attend the dispensary in 1934,
but many of them will do so when their institutional treatment is
completed.
