" I would recommend that the maximum number to be allowed in
the above three-roomed tenements be four over and three under 10
years, or two over and six under 10 years. As in the four-room tenements,
this works out at 300 cubic feet for persons over 10, and 200 for
those under 10, calculated on the bedroom accommodation only, and any
variation other than those mentioned should be calculated on this basis.
"Two-roomed Tenements.—These are distributed throughout all the
Blocks except M. As may be seen from the particulars given below,
the cubical contents of living and sleeping rooms vary from 2,141 cubic
feet to 2,349 cubic feet, and for purposes of calculating the number of
inhabitants, the capacity of the bed and sitting-rooms may be reckoned
together, as both during the day and night the door between the two
rooms will likely be open.
