The death-rate of Edinburgh was 19 4, that of Glasgow
22 0, and that of Dublin 27"6. The two first were nearly
the same as in 1899, but Dublin was 3'2 per thousand
lower.
No Colonial or Foreign city mentioned in the Registrar-
General's Annual Summary had as low a death-rate as
this parish, the lowest death-rates among Colonial and
