Of the above samples only 8 were brought by private
purchasers, viz.: 5 of butter, 1 of Swiss milk, 1 of milk,
and 1 of whisky; and 2 were samples of milk procured by
myself at houses where there were cases of enteric fever,
and the milk-supply was suspected: they were neither of
them watered.
