My Lords and Gentlemen,
I have found it convenient to make this Annual Report
include 53 weeks; so that the year 1874 will, for our purposes,
end on January 2nd, 1875.
Table I. gives the gross totals of deaths for each quarter
during the past 10 years, as far as they can be ascertained,
and also the numbers of persons who died each year in Public
Institutions in the Parish. I have not separated among
these the non-parishioners from the parishioners, as I did in
last year's Report, as it is not possible to do this for the
year 1874, because the Registrar-General discontinued to
forward me the mortality returns prepared by the Local
