(2) That tuberculosis dispensaries should be established and
controlled by Metropolitan Borough Councils, either singly or in
groups.
The Public Health and Housing Committee were of opinion that
the proposals of the Conference should be supported, but that in respect
of resolution No. 2 no action by the Council in this Borough is at present
necessary, in view of the establishment of a Tuberculosis Dispensary by
voluntary agency.
Upon the report of the Public Health and Housing Committee
the Council resolved that the resolutions of the Conference be approved,
and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the President of the Local Government
Board, the London County Council, the Metropolitan Asylums Board
and the Insurance Commissioners be so informed.

Committee, viz.:—
National Insurance Act, 1911.
Insurance Committee for the County of London,
County Hall, Spring Gardens, S.W.
19th July, 1912.
Sir,
A Sub-Committee of the Insurance Committee for the County
of London have had under consideration the question of the
arrangements to be made for the immediate administration under
the National Insurance Act, 1911, of sanatorium benefit in the
County. In this connection the Sub-Committee have decided to
recommend the appointment temporarily of local sub-committees,
consisting of ten members, in each metropolitan borough, the
duty of such sub-committees to be to investigate cases of tuberculosis
reported from within the areas for which they are respectively
constituted, and to make arrangements for treatment. Arrangements
will be made by the Committee for the provision of necessary
sanatorium accommodation.
