The 558 cases occurred in 324 houses, equal to an average of 17 per house, the same as in
1913. In 1912 the percentage was 18. There were 234 secondary cases, equal to 419 per cent.
of the total known cases, as compared with 436 per cent. in 1913 and 46.2 per cent. in 1912.

There were 26 deaths (12 of males and 14 of females) from whooping cough during the
year, giving a fatality of 4.6 per 100 known cases, as compared with 5.7 in 1913 and 5.5 in 1912,
and an average of 6.3 for the five years 1909-13. (See next page.) The fatality rates recorded in
the Wards are shown in Table 21.
