From inquiries made with respect to 423 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis recorded during
the year (including 58 fatal cases), tuberculous family histories were obtained in 183 instances.
The histories obtained can be grouped as below.

Of the 163 persons who died of pulmonary tuberculosis during the year, the Department
had notification records of 102 extending back for some years—in one case to 1906. An
analysis of the frequency of repeated notification and of the sources of the same is given below.
