Dairies and Milkshops.—At the end of 1910 there were 114 names of milk vendors on the
Register. Seven new milk vendors were added, 6 old businesses changed hands, and 1 removed.
The Register contained 120 effective entries at the close of the year. The businesses carried on
in combination with the sale of milk by the vendors now on the Register are given below—
Dairies: milk, butter, and eggs only 87 (84)

Two cases of diphtheria occurred at milkshop premises, and 10 cases of scarlet fever and
3 of diphtheria in the families of milk carriers. Suitable precautions were taken in each case,
and there was no conveyance of infection therefrom by the milk.
Ice Cream Making.
For the purpose of duly enforcing the provisions of Part VIII. of the London County
Council (General Powers) Act, 1902, a special Register of all makers and vendors of this
commodity is kept. At the end of 1910 there were 116 names on the Register, 10 were
removed during the past year, and 2 added, leaving 108 on the Register at the close of the year.
The businesses with which the ice cream trade is combined are indicated below—

In addition to 4 barrow-men residing in the Borough, 10 others have regular pitches in the

The appended statement, including 7,639 lbs. of foodstuffs destroyed, is additional to the
amount dealt with in the slaughterhouses.
