Parkside School
This bath was taken over by Ashby Mill School. Apart from one sample
containing 1 Presumptive Coliform per 100 ml., all samples were found to be
satisfactory.
St. Martin-in-the-Fields School
On one occasion, there was no free chlorine present, the water was turbid
and found to be polluted. There was also some foaming due to the presence of
detergent. It was decided to empty, clean and refill the bath, when the condition
of the bath was found to be satisfactory. One other incidence of Coliform
bacteria was due to low free chlorine which was rectified.
In order to maintain high standards, new schoolkeepers or relief schoolkeepers
were given detailed instructions on testing procedures. All queries were
dealt with as quickly as possible.
