Also produced in conjunction with the Exhibition was a handbook, 'Sense about Safety",
consisting in the main of articles based on a series of talks given at meetings of the
Islington Home Safety Committee by experts in the various subjects. The booklet was distributed
through the ''Safety in the Home" Exhibition, and also to Welfare Centres, Health Visitors,
District Nurses, Social and Welfare Visitors, etc., in the borough. The handbook has been
registered at Stationers' Hall and a copy supplied to the British Museum.
In addition to the many members of the general public who visited the Exhibition, numerous
school parties were brought by their teachers, and a considerable number of student nurses
attended as well as students from the University of London Institute of Education and London
School of Hygiene. It may be said, from the wide degree of interest shown, that the Exhibition
was a very successful one and the efforts of all those engaged in its production fully worthwhile.
