RUBELIA:
During 1961 there were 87 cases of Rubella. All were mild;
there was no contact with any early pregnancy. All made very
good progress, and there were no complications.
SCABIES:
40 cases were notified during the year. The incidence of
Scabies was at a low level and was not of any consequence.
SCARLET FEVER:
There were 73 notified cases of which two were moderately
severe, and the remainder mild. 38 cases were removed to hospital
and there were no deaths. All made a satisfactory recovery except
that in two instances there were complications of cervical
adenitis.
SMALLPOX:
At the end of the year there was a contact of a confirmed case
of Smallpox. The contact was vaccinated, and remained well. No
further contacts.
TONSILLITIS:
During 1961, 32 cases of Tonsillitis came to the notice of
this Department, Swabs were taken and all were negative. All
made satisfactory progress.
WHOOPING COUGH:
28 cases of Whooping Cough were notified during 1961 of which
15 were moderately severe and 13 mild. 16 cases were removed to
hospital. There were no deaths and in five cases there were complications
(Bronchitis 4 and Collapse of Right Lung 1).

TUBERCULOSIS: In 1961 37 new notifications were received, and their age and sex distribution was as follows:-
