On 31st December, 1972, the staff consisted of the Principal Dental Officer, three
whole-time and one part-time dental officers, supported by four whole-time dental surgery

Four dental centres were in use during the year. The Chelsea Clinic has vacated the
old premises at Bramerton Street and has removed to the newly-equipped clinic at the
Violet Melchett Health Centre. A second clinic for the use of an orthodontist and a dental
auxilliary is nearing completion at the Violet Melchett Centre and should be ready for
occupation in the early spring of 1973. Building work commenced on the new Raymede
Centre during the year and is expected to be completed by the summer of 1973. This Centre
will also contain two surgeries and will re-house the old Tavistock Road Clinic.
