Programme for Slum Clearance
Blechynden Street Area/Lancaster Road (Vest) Area.
Negotiations have taken place between the Council and the London
County Council in regard to the proposal to redevelop an area known
as the "Blechynden Street area." The allocation of responsibility
between the two authorities has been agreed as follows:-
To be developed by the London County Council:
Blechynden Street area north-west of railway -
Gross area in acres 8.30
To be developed by the Council:
Blechynden Street area south-east of railway -
Gross area in acres 11.40

In connection with that part of the Blechynden Street area
allocated to the County Council, Compulsory Purchase Orders have been
made during the year by that Council in respect of the following
premises:-

33-67 (odd), 73-81 (odd) and 56-78 (even) Blechynden Street
1-17 (odd), 8, 10 and 16 East Mews Road

In regard to that part of the Blechynden Street area to be
dealt with by the Kensington Council, it was decided that it should
be increased by the addition of 4.83 acres containing the following
properties:-
