INFANTILE MORTALITY.
The Infantile Mortality, measured by the deaths of children
under one year of age to the number of births registered, was 56
per 1,000 births, there having been a total of 121 such deaths
during the year, as compared with 187, 195 and 175, the respective
figures for the years 1919, 1920 and 1921.
This figure is the lowest ever recorded for the Borough; the
chief factor being the total absence of deaths from Diarrhœa.
A further reference to the Infantile Mortality Rate will be found
in the Section devoted to the Maternity and Child Welfare Scheme.
