Under the powers conferred by the London County Council
(General Powers) Act, 1908, Section 5, with respect to the registration
of premises unsuitable for the sale of Milk, one registration
was refused on the ground of unsuitability of the premises, which,
however, were subsequently rendered suitable and the registration
effected.
Ice Cream Premises.—There were 103 premises known at
the commencement of the year where the manufacture of this
commodity was carried on; 14 have been added during the year and
63 taken off, leaving a total of 54 premises. These premises were
inspected on 62 occasions, and improvement required by way of
cleansing of the premises in 11 cases.

Food Preparation. Places where food is prepared have been visited on 162 occasions, improvements being required in 35 instances as detailed below :—

The 35 instances where matters needed attention included
cases where the premises generally, or kitchen and scullery particularly,
needed cleansing and lime-washing, 3 where the sanitary
arrangements were defective, 1 which required reconstruction, 7
for want of ashpit, and 1 where the premises were not constructed
in accordance with the L.C.C. By-Laws.
Customs and Inland Revenue Acts.—No applications were
received during the year for certificates under these Acts.
Milk and Cream Regulations.—During the year no special
samples were taken under these Regulations, but by arrangement
