Cowhouses—Only 4 cowhouses are in use in the borough, and these
were visited upon 52 occasions. In two instances unhealthy conditions of the
udder of cows were found and duly reported to the London County Council.
As a result of the veterinary examination which followed it was shown that in
one case the cow suffered from tuberculosis of the udder, and was therefore
seized and slaughtered under the London County Council (General Powers)
Act, 1907. Upon another occasion a diseased cow was discovered on the
premises, but it was not giving milk. With these exceptions the cows were
healthy.
