INSPECTION OF FOOD.
This duty is performed by Inspector Wilkinson, Certificated Inspector of
Meat. His work during the year has resulted in preventing the sale of a
considerable quantity of unsound or diseased meat, which otherwise would
have found itsway to the public.
Unsound Food.—The total weights of the unsound food dealt with by
the Inspector was 1 ton 10 cwts. 3 qrs. 25 lbs.; as contrasted with *12 tons
0 cwts. 2 qrs. 24 lbs. in 1914.
* This total included 9 tons of damaged sweetmeats removed at owner's request.

The following were the foodstuffs which were seized or surrendered and destroyed:—
