Repeal of By-Laws.
20. From and after the date of the confirmation of these by-laws any
by-laws with respect to houses let in lodgings or occupied by members of more
than one family, in force in the Metropolitan Borough of Battersea shall be
repealed.
These by-laws were made by the Mayor, Aldermen
and Councillors of the Metropolitan Borough
of Battersea, at a meeting of the Council held
on the 11th day of September, 1912, and the
Common Seal of the Council was hereunto
affixed on the 11th day of September, 1912.

Acting on behalf of the said Board under the authority
of their General Order dated the twenty-sixth
day of May, 1877.
Smoke Nuisance.
Emissions of black smoke were reported during the year on
80 occasions. In 51 instances these were reported by the Coal
Smoke Abatement Society, in 15 by the Council's Sanitary
Inspectors, and 14 were reported by the London County Council.
Thirty-two preliminary and three statutory notices were served
to abate smoke nuisances, but no prosecutions were instituted
during the year.
