The mortality rate for the whole district from this disease is
1-02 per 1,000 living persons. The mortality rate for London for
the same period is .72 per 1,000 living persons.
Measles.—This disease was rather more prevalent during 1905
than during the previous year, the deaths in 1905 being 74, with a
mortality rate of .32 per 1,000 living, against 66 deaths, with a
mortality rate of .26 per 1,000 living in 1904.

The mortality rate for the whole of London is .37 per 1,000
living persons.
During the year information was received from the headmasters
of elementary schools in the Borough of 1232 cases of measles.
Whooping Cough.—The deaths from whooping cough in the
Borough of Hackney during last year numbered 64. This is a very
slight decline upon the number registered during 1904, the number
for this latter year being 66. The mortality rate for 1905 is .28 per
1,000 living; that for all London during the same period being .32 per 1,000 living persons.
