Report on the sanitary condition of the Hackney District for the year 1905

Below is given the distribution of the disease in the several sub-districts of the Borough.

The deaths from erysipelas amounted to 10 during 1905. This
is equal to a mortality rate of 3.5 per cent. attacked, and .04 per
1,000 living persons.
B. NON-NOTIFIABLE INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Influenza.—During the year in question 28 deaths were recorded
in the Borough of Hackney from this cause. This is a slight
increase over the number recorded during the year 1904. The
mortality rate for 1905 is .12 per 1,000 living persons; that for
London during the same period is .15 per 1,000 living persons.
Chicken-Pox.—No death from this cause was recorded in the
Borough during the year 1905.
Diarrhœa.—There were 233 deaths from diarrhoea in the Borough
during 1905. In addition there were 44 deaths registered as due to enteritis.
