AREA.
The “City of London” may mean either of
the following:—
Parliamentary Borough,
Municipal City,
Registration District, or
Sanitary District.
According to the Census Return of 1891 the
areas, numbers of inhabited houses, &c., were:—

For the statistical part of this Report, the
Registration District is referred to when speaking

In dealing with administration, the Sanitary
District is so designated. The population of the
Registration District at the middle of 1900 was
estimated to be 26,998.
