Without reiterating the advantages which
must accrue from the transfer of a temporary to
a permanent location for the Shelter for
administrative and executive purposes, it may
be permissible to recall the fact that during the
seven years the work has been carried on as
recited above there has not been a single case of
sickness or accident, nor has its existence evoked
the faintest expression of apprehension from any
one of the occupants of surrounding neighbouring
premises in Cotton Street, in which the density
of population is greater than in Golden Lane,
and from which it is only 300 yards distant.
I trust, therefore, that the Cripplegate
recalcitrants will bend to the logic of facts, and
accept the assurance that the work of the new
building will be carried on with a scrupulous and
honest desire to secure to them the same
exemption from risk or annoyance.
