from "puerperal mania," and 3 children died shortly after
birth from "convulsions" and "inanition,"
In the out-patient department 420 poor women were
attended to during their confinement, of these 4 died ; 1
mother succumbed suddenly from heart disease of long
standing, 1 from bronchitis and fatty heart, 1 from rupture
of the womb, and 1 from blood-poisoning. Among the
infants there were 9 still-births, and 6 died shortly after
delivery.
The medical report for the past year is that the sanitary
condition of the hospital is in a fairly satisfactory state.
