Report on the sanitary condition of the City of London for the year 1898

Twenty families, comprising 36 adults and 30 children, total 66 persons, were provided with lodging, food and attendance during the disinfection of their houses after the following diseases:—

Of the above, 4 families came from homes
consisting of three rooms, 8 two rooms, and 8
one room.
On one occasion every bed in the Shelter was
occupied.
This establishment is not intended for the use
of the poor only, any person within the district
who may be inconvenienced by the process of
disinfection having a right to the accommodation
it affords.
