Sir,
The question of the temporary accommodation
of persons suffering from infectious
diseases having been under consideration by
the Commissioners of Sewers of the City of
London, I am directed to send you the enclosed
copy of a Memorandum by Dr. W. Sedgwick
Saunders, the Medical Officer of Health, containing
suggestions as to the best course to
adopt in the event of a case of infectious
disease occurring on your premises at a time
when the congested state of the public Hospitals
prevents its removal, and to invite your serious
attention to the matter.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
H. MONTAGUE BATES.
Principal Clerk to the
Commissioners of Sewers of the
City of London.
