In concluding this report I must acknowledge the cordial assistance
that has been afforded to me by every member of the staff of the
Public Health Department, from the Superintendent (Mr. J. R. Leggatt)
to the Junior Clerk. They have all endeavoured to assist me in the
work of re-organization, and to them in a very large measure is to
be attributed any success which has attended my efforts daring the
year.
I have above all to thank the Public Health Committee for
the manner in which they have received and unanimously supported
the suggestions I have made to them from time to time, while to the
Chairman, Mr. R. S. Cufflin, in particular, I have to express my deep
obligation for the readiness with which he has always placed his time at
my disposal when I desired to discuss questions of interest to my
department with him.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
ALFRED E. HARRIS,
Medical Officer of Health.
Vestry Hall, Islington,
June 25th, 1894.
