WEALDSTONE URBAN DISTRICT
Annual Report, 1913.
Wealdstone,
March 9th, 1914.
To the Chairman and Members of the Wealdstone
Urban District Council.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour of presenting to you my Annual
Report upon the health and general sanitary condition
of the Urban District of Wealdstone, for the year ending
December 31st, 1913.
This is the 19th Annual Report I have had the
pleasure of submitting during my term of office and it
gives me great satisfaction to be able to state that the
generally favourable conditions which have characterised
most of these may still be found in the one now submitted
to you.
Following the instructions laid down by the Local
Government Board for Medical Officers of Health, as to
the manner in which their Annual Reports shall be
arranged there is necessarily some repetition in these
from year to year, but this is unavoidable in the circumstances,
and will, I am sure, be readily excused on that
account.
POPULATION.
The estimated population is 13,000. This has been
calculated as in previous years by multiplying the number
of occupied houses by the average number of persons
per house at the time of the last Government Census.
BIRTHS.
The total number of births belonging to the district
was 330, affording a Birth-rate of 25.3 per 1000 of population.
This is practically the same as that for the
previous year. Average for past ten years 27.9.
