Wealdstone,
March 25th, 1905.
To the Chairman and Members of the Wealdstone Urban
District Council.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit my Annual Report for the year
ending December 31st, 1904, which again shows a
satisfactory death-rate, though the year was marked by
a large amount of serious illness.
The estimated Population is 8940 averaged to
June 30th ; an increase of about 900 from last year.
The Deaths registered number 76, giving a deathrate
per 1000 living of 85. I have ascertained that
two patients from this district died in the County Asylum
during the year, and one in the Union Workhouse.
If we add these to the number of deaths we get a nett
death-rate of 8.7 per 1000.
The population is estimated on a census of occupied
houses multiplied by the average number per
house given at the last census in 1901.
BIRTHS.
The births number 265; of these 134 were boys and
131 girls. This affords a birth-rate of 33.37 as compared
with 31-6 for last year. Fortunately Wealdstone has
not to deplore a diminishing birth-rate, such as is giving
much anxiety in many districts and counties at the
present time.
There were 16 deaths in the March quarter, 19 in
the June quarter, 24 in the September and 17 in the
December quarters,
