RAINFALL FOR YEAR 1902.
The greatest amount of rain fell in the month of June,
3.86 inches; the least amount fell in the month of April,
.67in.; the greatest amount; alling in one day being on August
18th, .91in.; the greatest number of consecutive days on
which no rain fell being 23 (September 16th to October 8th
inclusive); rain fell on 157 days during the year; the total
rainfall for the year was 20.89 inches.
I am indebted to Mr. Walker, your Surveyor and Sanitary
Inspector, for much information necessary to the making up
of this report, and I have also to express my appreciation of
the ability and earnestness he has always shown in the exercise
of his duties.
As required by the Local Government Board I append
statistics dealing with population, deaths, and births, and new
cases of infectious sickness classified according to diseases and
ages; also a tabulated report from the Sanitary Inspector of
work carried out in his department.
In conclusion, Gentlemen, in thanking you for your assistance
and support. I venture to think you will agree with me
that there are many encouraging features in this report of
Sanitary Work for the past year, and although we shall not
rest satisfied until further progress is made, our motto being
still as in the past "Forward," yet we may justly feel that our
efforts have met with considerable success, and find encouragement
to further endeavours towards a high ideal of sanitation
for Wealdstone.
I am, Gentlemen,
Yours very faithfully,
GEO. H. BUTLER,
Medical Officer of Health.
