STATISTICS AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS
OF THE AREA.
The Rural District is situated upon the northern
bank of the river Thames opposite Gravesend, and has

latter extends from the eastern boundary of Tilbury

the Parish of Little Thurrock contains a large section
of Tilbury Docks.

Purfleet it is of an Urban type, containing residential
areas, factories, cement works and docks, while at East
Tilbury there is a small but growing industrial community.
Inland the district assumes the ordinary agricultural
