Fobbing.—This parish is supplied chiefly by
Southend Waterworks Company. There are ten wells.
Bulphan.—There is no mains supply in the parish,
all the water being obtained from wells. There are no
building activities to warrant alteration of this system.
West Tilbury.—There is only one well in this
area, the district being supplied from mains.
North Ockendon.—This parish is supplied partly
by mains along the main highway, with wells in the
outlying parts of the parish.
Horndon-on-the-Hill.—During the year the Council
communicated successfully with the South Essex
Waterworks Company with the result that an extension
of the water mains of some 400 yards was made which
connected twenty-four premises formerly dependent
upon standpipes and rain-water wells.
(ii.) Drainage and Sewerage.—Steady progress is
continuing in this direction. Practically speaking, the
Parishes of Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Little
Thurrock and Horndon-on-the-Hill are now sewered
throughout and extensions to sewers have been carried
out in the three former parishes.
