PREVALENCE AND CONTROL OVER INFECTIOUS
DISEASES.
Table XXXVI. shows the cases of infectious diseases notified
during the year.
The total number of cases, less tuberculosis, was 4,918, 826
from Clapham, 466 from Putney, 1,313 from Streatham, 775
from Tooting, and 1,538 from Wandsworth—compared with
4,820 in 1920.
The number appears high, but it includes 1,201 cases of
whooping cough.
Measles and German measles ceased to be notifiable diseases
on 31st December, 1919, and any information as to the incidence
of these diseases was obtained chiefly from the London County
Council elementary schools.
