Births.
After allowing for inward and outward transfers, i.e., the addition
of 602 children born of Deptford parents outside the Borough, and the
deduction of 35 children born inside the Borough, but whose parents
reside normally outside its boundaries, the number of births registered
as belonging to the Borough was 1,432. This is equivalent to a birth.rate
of 14.4 per 1,000 of the population and, after Subtraction of deaths,
represents only a natural increase of 3.3 per 1,000 of the population.
