Notes by The Medical Officer of Health.
During the year certain branches of the work were reviewed by the
Medical Officer of Health and the Tuberculosis Officer and, in some
instances, slight modifications were adopted. Those reviewed comprised
the following:
Work of the Health Visitors. In order that full information should
be available as to home contacts, sleeping arrangements, financial
conditions, etc., the Record Cards were re-cast with a view to providing
for a quarterly survey of the above.
Issue of Sputum Flasks. If only from an educational point of view,
the issue of a flask to every case of pulmonary tuberculosis seems to
be desirable, and this is now carried out.
Shelter. The purchase of an additional shelter was sanctioned by
the Committee.
Artificial Light Treatment. Ultra-violet Light treatment is provided
by arrangement with the Miller Hospital and the London
Hospital at a cost of Is. per exposure.
