APPENDIX No. 6.
REPORT OF THE ELECTED AUDITORS,
upon their examination of the vestry's accounts, for
the year ended at lady-day, 1891.
To the United Vestry of St. Margaret and St. John,
Westminster.
Gentlemen,
We, the undersigned Auditors, elected by the parishioners
under the Metropolis Local Management Act on the 28th May,
1890, have to report that we met on Tuesday, 12th May, to
commence the audit of the accounts for the year ended on 25th
March last, and that we have this day completed the same. The
interval has been occupied by the staff of the Chartered Accountants,
Messrs. E. Moore & Sons, with whom we conferred at our
first sitting, in dealing with the detail of the rate collection.
We have had before us their report upon the result of their work,
and have adopted it, as we have done in recent years, in so far
as it relates to the mass of detail connected with the individual
assessments ; but we have proceeded independently of the report
in ascertaining that the receipts are satisfactorily credited, and
that the payments are duly vouched. In this we found ourselves
already preceded by the Finance Committee, whose careful
periodical checking was traceable through the cash book for the
whole year. Having had access to all the books and deeds, and
having found everything straightforwardly and satisfactorily
entered, we have had pleasure in giving our certificate and
allowance.
