MILK (SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS) ORDER, 1923, ETC.
1 dairy is licensed to pasteurise milk. 2 dairies are licensed to
bottle and sell Grade A (T.T.) milk.
The total number of persons and premises licensed to sell graded
milks are as follows:—

CHEMICAL AND BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.
Particulars of samples procured under Orders, etc.:—
6 Grade A (T.T.) Milk
5 Pasteurised Milk
10 Ordinary Milk
Submitted for bacteriological examination.
Certified free from Tubercle Bacilli and
were satisfactory with the exception of 2
Pasteurised Milk. A letter was sent to the
firm, and after suggested additions to
plant were installed, further samples were
in order and satisfactory.
The London County Council instituted a scheme later in the year
whereby school-children were enabled to obtain a one-third pint bottle
of Pasteurised Milk. This resulted in a number of dairymen obtaining
the necessary Licences to enable them to supply Pasteurised Milk to the
schools.
There are 46 L.C.C. schools with 111 departments supplied with
this milk by 12 dairy firms.
12 samples of this milk were procured and submitted for chemical
analysis, and 12 samples for bacteriological examination. These were
all satisfactory.
