Of these sums collected by the Vestry as for Poor Rates, large
amounts are paid to other authorities for purposes over which the
Vestry has on control. Thus, in addition to the £60,200 paid to
the Guardians, out of which the Comity Rate and Metropolitan
Asylum's Board's charges are paid, there is a sum of £12684 16s. 8d.
paid to the Commissioners of Metropolitan Police, and £651 19s. 10d.
for Registration, &c., expenses.
From the Sewers Rate is paid the Metropolitan Board's
Consolidated Rate of £16,538 17s. 2d. From the General Rate
is paid the School Board Rate of £21.763 7s. 11d., and the Toll
Bridges Precept of £2,156 5s. 11d, All these charges are based
upon the rateable value of the property according to the valuation
list, and no reduction is made for empty houses, nor for the
allowance to owners.

ASSESSMENT.

The valuation of the Parish for Assessment purposes, as corrected by the Assessment Sessions is, compared with the corresponding period of the previous Quinquennial valuation in 1881, as follows:—
