REPORT OF THE SURVEYOR.
SURVEYOR'S DEPARTMENT.
Gentlemen,
The following are the Works that have been carried out under
the superintendence of this Department for the year ending 25th
March, 1876.
MAINTENANCE OF ROADS, SC.
107¼ yards cube Broken Granite £941 14 4
437 tons ditto (including cartage) 365 19 9
123 yards cube Ballast 26 2 9

192 tons Granite Siftings 110 8 0
have been used on the McAdam and Ballast roads in the parish.
Also 689 yards of old pebbles have been broken, and carted on
the roads at a cost of £137 16s.
During 27 days the 15-ton Steam Roller was in use in the
Queens, Albion, and Pownall Roads, at a cost of £75 12s., and extra
labor was employed in lifting and scoring the said roads, amounting
to £89 17s. 10d.
Eleven laborers and two foremen were employed in the repairs
of the said roads, and their wages for the year amounted to £636 ; of
