REPORT OF THE SURVEYOR.
SURVEYOR'S DEPARTMENT.
Gentlemen,
The following works have been carried out, under the
superintendence of this Department, during the year ending 25th
March, 1875.
MAINTENANCE OF ROADS, &C.
The quantity of materials used on, and the cost of repairing the
Mc Adam and Ballast roads, in the Parish, is as follows:—
310f yards cube broken Granite £265 13 11
77 „ „ Ballast 45 1 3
There were also 1,716 tons of broken Granite delivered on the
"Wharf, and used on the roads, at a cost (including loading and cartage)
of £1,457 3s. 6d.
Eight laborers were employed in the repairs of the Mc Adam and
Ballast roads, and the wages paid them, two foremen and two yardsmen,
for the year, amounted to £621 10s.; and £153 2s. 2d. was paid by the
Gas and Water Companies for the repair of trenches in the said roads.

During the Quarter ending 25th December, 1874, the Inspector submitted to me for analysis the following articles, all of which were duly analysed by me: —
