Analyst's Report for the Quarter ending Sept. 29th, 1874.
(35 & 36 Vic., cap. 74).

September 30th, 1874.
To the Vestry of Shoreditch.
Gentlemen,
During the Quarter ending September 29th, 1874,
fourteen articles of food and drink were submitted to me for analysis by
the Inspectors; and the articles Were all duly analysed by me, with
the following results:—

Of the adulterated milks one contained 33 per cent. of added water,
and the two others were deprived of cream.
The two specimens of green tea were faced—one with a minute
quantity of Prussian Blue; the other with the same substance, and
with a white micaceous inert powder also. In neither case was the
infused tea likely, in my opinion, to be injurious to the health of persons
drinking the same.
I have the honour to be,
Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
THOMAS STEVENSON,
Analyst for the Parish of St. Leonard, Shoreditch.
