North London Railway.
The works of this Railway are being rapidly proceeded with, the
viaduct in many places being completed and several of the bridges
(being of straight iron girders,) are being constructed.

A committee was appointed by the Vestry, in June, 1863, for the
purpose of surveying and valueing the whole of the rateable value in the
parish, they have continued their labours up to March, 1864, during
which time they have met 23 times, and surveyed and assessed 2079
premises in the various wards of the parish.
A Special Sanitary Committee has also been appointed by the Vestry,
for the purpose of making an inspection of the dwellings of the poor and
other properties in the parish with a view to ascertain the sanitary condition,
and what improvements could be effected thereon; the committee
was appointed on the 20th October, 1863.
The Committee have met 19 times.
They have examined 1327 houses and other premises, and have ordered
certain alterations for improving the sanitary condition of the parish,
which have been carried out by the Officers.
