The Committee of Justices for the County of Middlesex have under
the Act 15 and 16 vic. cap. 81, made out and transmitted to the several
parishes in the county a basis or standard for the county rate, whereby
the parish of Shoreditch has been increased £120,271.
The last county rate was 265,772.
Standard prepared by the Committee. 386,043.
The Vestry appealed against this increase, but the Justices confirmed
the basis laid down.
Main Drainage Works.
The middle level sewer as far as regards this parish has been completed,
the sewer enters this parish at Old Street Road, from the City Road
and runs easterly to the extremity of the parish, at Church Street,
Shoreditch, intercepting the main sewer in the High Street, Shoreditch,
the sewer in Tabernacle Square, and the sewer in Boundary Street.
