a little below the average, the rainfall has been a
little above it; and the amount of moisture in the
air, and number of wet days have been exactly the
mean proportion for the last nine years.
The particulars of the Sanitary work for the
year will be found in Table No. VII of the
Appendix. Broadly, it may be stated that the four
Sanitary Officers have inspected 22,447 houses in
the year, and have found 4,113 of them more or
less defective in their sanitary condition, for the
amendment of which 6,057 orders have been issued
